David Spreadborough
Owner of forensicvideo.training
I am dedicated to the development and professionalism of Forensic Video Analysis and Investigation. A Police Officer since 1991, I identified the need for specialisation of Forensic Video Analysis in 2002. I have received Senior Officer and Judge recognition for my work and take pride in a professional evidential product. I was the Senior Police Officer within the Visual Forensic Unit and had responsibility for managing and overseeing all major crime video investigations; the training and development of Video staff and development of internal procedures using updated national and international guidelines. I was a group member of a number of National Working Groups as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Video Evidence and contributor on a number of international subject based forums. My own training model, aiding the learning of Forensic Video Analysis, is based on four key modules. Evidential Export Playback Investigation Presentation I develop and deliver training modules for international groups and have presented training through interpreters. Self motivated to refresh my knowledge on current procedures and guidelines, I then share this with others through an active social media presence. I present and publicise the importance of open video standards to Manufacturers, Resellers, Integrators and Installers of CCTV equipment through appearances at seminars and conferences. I am passionate about new technology and identifying new and disruptive business models to aid in the management and investigation of digital video evidence. After the removal of all Police Posts from Forensic Video Analysis I was forced to resign in order to continue within my field of expertise. I am excited about the new challenges that lay ahead within the video surveillance and security sectors and welcome contact by interested parties who would benefit from my experience, knowledge and fresh training input.
